    7mm stw re barrel?

The bolt face is the same between a 28 Nosler and 7STW so your good for that conversion. The feedrails may need to be opened slightly and a different mag box is needed. A 28 Nosler will sell way better than a 7STW if it comes to that. The 7PRC is crazy popular but it's only a long throated 7RM...

    7mm stw re barrel?

A 7STW is about 99grs of water capacity, the 28 Nosler is 102 and the 7RUM is about 114. The RUM is too much of a good thing IMO. Very little gain for a ton more powder. I would prefer the 28 Nosler, mainly for the length. It's almost .300" shorter than the STW. There are marginal benefits to no...

    Good to hear Ron.

    Sad Day

I had to put my chocolate down in Feb. I feel your pain there. 2 in around a year would truly suck. Mine was only 9 and got a brain tumor that resulted in frequent seizures. I have a hard time not having at least one dog around. I currently have a 1yo yellow lab and a 9 week old Drahthaar puppy...

    2025 Spring Hunt

Early June is the start of the bear rut so the boars will be on the move if your doing a spot and stalk. You can bait but dont expect to have bears on bait before 4-5 days.

    Shotgun fit.

My lab just turned 1 and she is a handful. I know pointers and males are usually worse but none of them are great until they get closer to 2. I take my dog for a walk and to play fetch every day it's not pouring rain. About the only time she is mellow like a old dog is after that walk. I've...

    Shotgun fit.

I've only shot a Winchester 101 O/U reasonably well but that was years ago. Like you I've tried quite a few OU's and SxS's and never really shot any others worth a darn. I haven't owned any high end Benelli's, Beretta's, Browning's, etc but I've tried to talk myself into buying one several...

    Shotgun fit.

It's just too bad you didn't do it 20 years ago. Think how many more birds you'd of killed by now.

    Shotgun fit.

Even though he is really close to me I might have to make a contraption like that to try. I have a shop full of CNC machines so I'm sure I could figure something out. I've always felt my stock fit isn't perfect with my Benelli SBE3's (28, 20, and 12ga) and Retay Masai Mara (20ga). I shoot...

    Interesting groups.

That is a crazy jump in group size between nodes. If your brass can handle it I'd try higher to see if you hit another node. A lot of times the higher nodes wont shoot as well as the lower nodes.

    2024 hunting plans

I'm with you a bit on the mentoring thing Jim. I think I have more fun taking my kids and their friends as I do hunting with my hunting buddies anymore. Eventually maybe all this point buying will pay off but honestly I'd rather my kids have a chance at a really big bull or buck. My kids have...

    2024 hunting plans

I'm going to put my kids in for Coues deer in AZ, youth elk, deer and antelope in UT, deer/elk/antelope in OR, points in WY, along with deer, elk (extra cow and bull), and antelope here in ID. As busy as their soccer is I doubt we will get out for bear this spring but I might try to take them...

    2024 Hunting Season

Yep it is. Centerline rifles require expensive permits to own. The guide does shoot PRS style rimfire events but your shooting up in trees and I would bet its cheaper and quieter to use airguns plus your often shooting around businesses or houses. I bet I shot 400+ pellets in 2 days. We only...
