This is a load I have been goofing around a bit with my 45-70 and RL7. Runs about 2000FPS out of my rifle. This was shot into jugs, but recovered from an old power pole that is used as a back stop for some of my targets.

I am sure this bullet is a little more fragile when pushed harder, but looking at it after coming out of the wood, it looks excellent.

It retained 258.2 grain and expanded to .730". The target was located about 138 yards from the muzzle, so it had also slowed down a bit before it hit.

That one would get the job done on a deer or black bear.
Nice work Scotty.

That is very good performance; it gives a lot of confidence to anyone choosing to use it in their 45-70.

What is you load Scott? I have a few of these for my guide gun.

Fotis, I'm running Starline cases, CCIBR2, and 51 grains of RL7.
