Meredith Rifles of Athens, Al just finished building a 284 Win for me. Picked it up Friday. Mounted a 3-15x50 Zeiss HD5 with RZ800 and shot it Yesterday. Still haven't stretched it past 100 yds, but that will come. Very happy so far.

Looks very nice and looks like accuracy won't be a problem........

Very nice, congratulations on a very nice rifle in a cool chambering.
She is going to be a shooter.

What kind of speed are you getting with the 168 gr ABLR?

I didn't chronograph it. I will do that in time. Used Quickload and optimum barrel time to pick the load. Should be around 2761 according to quickload Other powders can get another 100 fps according to Quickload. I will eventually try some of them. I started with H4831sc because I have always had good luck getting accurate loads with it.

The reamer was the 284 Win Gap Match reamer from Pacific tool. It has a long throat so I can seat bullets longer than the standard 284. Overall cartridge length is 3.087".

First rate build with first rate components; the first load shows your care and dedication to excellence. Congratulations.

Thanks everybody.

I don't post alot, but I am on here continuously looking to see what the discussion is about. Lots of good information. This is a great forum.

I'm getting 2848 fps from my 280 AI with a 24" barrel. Not the fastest load but very accurate.

You picked a great bullet and your rifle will deliver it with excellent accuracy.

Awesome rifle and COOL cartridge! That 284 Win is just a cool cat. Looks like it's going to excellent as well.

That 284win is very sharp  & I don't believe accuracy is going to be any trouble.
Thank you for photos & range report.

Blessings,
Dan
